Healthy and high-quality foods in public hospitals and aged care – have your say
14-Oct-2019
Share your expectations of food served in public hospitals and public sector residential aged care services.
Overview
The Victorian Government is committed to ensuring our public hospitals and public sector residential aged care services serve healthy, high quality and where possible, locally sourced food.
Following an audit of public hospitals and public aged care services conducted by the Department of Health and Human Services, the Government is committed to mandating revised health and quality food standards.
Food currently served in many of our public hospitals and public aged care services is high quality and nutritious. This project aims to build on this and look at further opportunities to improve cultural diversity, variety and sourcing of local food.
Community members are encouraged to share their expectations of food being served in public hospitals and public sector residential aged care services by completing the survey below. These results will be combined with the results from surveys currently conducted with people admitted to public hospitals to ensure efforts to improve the food served is aligned with community expectations.
